Frequently Asked Questions

What is SnapMock?
SnapMock is a free, browser-based tool that turns your screenshots into professional-looking mockups. Add device frames (iPhone, MacBook, browser windows, and more), gradient backgrounds, shadows, and perspective effects — all without signing up or installing anything.
Is SnapMock really free?
Yes! The core features are completely free with no watermarks, no signup, and no usage limits. We also offer an optional Pro tier with extra features like 4× export resolution and additional templates.
Do my images get uploaded to your servers?
No — never. All processing happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript and the HTML Canvas API. Your images never leave your device. We have zero access to your screenshots or mockups. When you close the tab, everything is gone.
What image formats are supported?
SnapMock accepts PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF files as input. You can export your finished mockups as either PNG or JPEG.
Can I use SnapMock mockups for commercial purposes?
Absolutely. You own every mockup you create with SnapMock. Use them on your website, in presentations, app store listings, social media posts, marketing materials, client deliverables — anywhere you like, with no attribution required.
What devices and browsers does SnapMock support?
SnapMock works in any modern web browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Brave — on both desktop and mobile. For the best experience, we recommend a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave) on a desktop device.
What mockup frames are available?
We offer a wide variety of device and browser frames:
- Browsers: macOS Browser, Safari, Arc, Windows Browser
- Phones: iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8, Generic Phone
- Laptops & Tablets: MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, Generic Tablet, Generic Laptop
We regularly add new frames based on user requests.
Can I use custom backgrounds?
Yes! SnapMock offers extensive background options:
- 20+ gradient presets (linear and mesh gradients)
- Solid colors (white, black, or any custom color)
- Transparent background for use in design tools
- Auto-color mode that extracts the dominant color from your screenshot
- Upload your own background image
Does SnapMock support batch processing?
Yes. You can upload multiple screenshots at once, arrange them in side-by-side or 2×2 grid layouts, and download all mockups as a ZIP file. This is especially useful when creating consistent mockups for app store listings or portfolios.
What export resolutions are available?
Free users can export at 1× (standard) or 2× (retina) resolution. Pro users get access to 4× ultra-high resolution exports — perfect for print materials and large displays.
Can I create App Store and Play Store screenshots?
Yes! SnapMock has a dedicated App Store mode with preset dimensions for both iOS App Store and Google Play Store. Add device frames, captions, and gradient backgrounds that match each store's requirements perfectly.
How do I export my mockup?
Click the "Download Mockup" button in the sidebar. Choose your preferred format (PNG or JPEG) and resolution (1× or 2×). The mockup is generated instantly in your browser and saved directly to your device.
Can I share my mockup settings with teammates?
Yes! Click the "Share Settings Link" button to generate a URL that captures your current frame, background, shadow, padding, and perspective settings. Share it with your team so everyone can create consistent mockups.
Is there a desktop app or mobile app?
SnapMock is a web app — no download required. It also works offline as a Progressive Web App (PWA). On Chrome or Edge, click the install icon in your address bar to add SnapMock to your desktop or home screen for quick access.
